Hispano – American Brain Bank of Neurodevelopmental Disorders

Welcome to CENE

CENE is an initiative to promote brain banking, research, education, and outreach in the field of neurodevelopmental disorders. It is the first large-scale brain bank for neurodevelopmental disorders in Hispano-America. Neurodevelopmental disorders (NDDs) are a set of conditions that present with brain dysfunction due to alterations in the process of brain development. We organize brain banking because human brain tissue is a scarce resource that is obtained from postmortem donations. CENE enables and expands NDD brain research worldwide, particularly with respect to Autism Spectrum Disorder and Fragile X Syndrome, and increases the availability of brain tissue from NDDs to researchers around the globe. These activities are performed in Spanish and English, in Hispano-America and the US.

About Us

CENE is an organization with four goals: brain collection, research, education, and enhancing public awareness.

Brain retrieval must be performed within 24 hours from the time of death in order to ensure maximize its research value. If death has occurred or is imminent, please call CENE at the following number as soon as possible: +1 530 574 2196
